How Much Does It Cost To File Bankruptcy In Atlanta?

This is the most common question I hear when I’m discussing debt management options with a prospective client. So, let’s cut to the chase.

Court Required Filing Fee
Chapter 7 $306.00
Chapter 13 $281.00

Pre-Filing Financial Counseling Course
Free-$50.00, depending on the vendor you use and the time constraints before your case needs to be filed with the Court. The pre-filing course must be completed and you must receive a certificate before your case is filed with the Court.  It is crucial that you use a vendor that is approved by the Court where your case will be filed, otherwise the certificate will not be valid.

Attorney’s Fee
The cost to retain my legal services and zealous advocacy depends on the complexity of your situation.  It is impossible for me to give you a range in this posting.  But, I can promise you that before we conclude your FREE consultation, I will quote you a fee that is reasonable, lower than most of my competitors, and payable over time.  If we determine that filing under Chapter 7 will best serve you, the entire firm fee must be paid before your case will be filed with the Court.  If we determine that filing under Chapter 13 will best serve you, the majority of the firm’s fee will be paid through your monthly payment to the Chapter 13 Trustee (a small portion will be required to be paid before your case is filed).
